Job Description
The Capital Markets & Treasury Analyst applicant will be part of the Brookfield Corporation (BN) Capital Markets & Treasury team and will report to the Vice President, Capital Markets & Treasury.
The team is responsible for managing liquidity and executing capital markets issuances and treasury initiatives for Brookfield Corporation, and works in close collaboration with other companies in the Brookfield ecosystem. The team ultimately reports up to the Chief Financial Officer of Brookfield Corporation.
The applicant will be assisting on treasury and capital markets operations within BN including cash management and forecasting, risk management, financial reporting and maintaining banking relationship data. The position offers the potential to take on additional responsibilities and career growth over time for the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily cash management, liquidity management and forecasting
- Support quarterly financial reporting of corporate finance activities including debt compliance
- Responsible for Capital Markets & Treasury team deliverables for quarterly financial statements release
- Support the Capital Markets & Treasury team on deliverables related to Brookfield’s relationships with banks, credit rating agencies, and other lenders
- Support quarterly internal risk reporting including monitoring and reporting on liquidity, foreign currency and interest rate exposures, debt maturities and covenants
- Assist with various analyses and reports for senior management, including risk reporting to the risk committee and board
- Leverage technology and implement processes to enhance reporting and reduce manual processes
- Participate in ad-hoc Treasury and Capital Markets projects
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a focus or major in Finance or Accounting
- A finance designation is not required but will be helpful (CPA or CFA)
- Proficient with MS Office (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Highly organized and able to effectively prioritize multiple workstreams to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable and open-minded with a willingness to learn
- Comfortable working in a corporate and highly fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster professional relationships
