You will drive the forecast and budget process and guide the organization in managing the capex portfolio in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Job Summary

In this role, you will support the capital expenditure (Capex) planning process and provide financial insights and analysis to support informed decision-making. You will evaluate investment opportunities, develop financial models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize our capital allocation strategy.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the Capex controlling process. Collaborate with partners to gather project proposals, evaluate investment opportunities, and assess strategic alignment.
  • Assist in preparing the Capex budget and forecasts. Collaborate with finance teams and project managers to gather input, analyze data, and develop accurate financial projections.
  • Monitor and report actual spending against budgets, explaining variances.
  • Engage with partners to gather project requirements, provide financial expertise, and ensure alignment with financial and operational goals.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, project management, and senior executives.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for capital projects.
  • Develop dashboards to monitor project outcomes, assess financial impact, and evaluate investment effectiveness.
  • Track and measure ROI for completed Capex projects.
  • Implement standard processes, tools, and methodologies to improve analysis and decision-making efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline Capex processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years in a similar role or in accounting, audit
  • Fluent in English; French knowledge is an asset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial software
  • Robust financial modeling skills, including sensitivity analysis
  • Understanding of financial concepts and investment appraisal techniques (e.g., DCF, NPV, IRR)
  • Proactive, self-driven, resourceful, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to perform under pressure and in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Considered An Asset

  • Experience in large corporations or industrial companies
  • Experience with SAP
  • Professional certifications (CPA, CFA, MBA)
  • Exposure to Capex planning and analysis
  • Knowledge of IFRS
