Job summary

Canadian Pacific Railway is seeking an Analyst Billing & Receivables Management to support the Lead-to-Cash cycle, including billing operations, rate publications, disputes, collections and cash application. You will drive efficiency with analytical problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years of relevant experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years in accounting, billing, or AR.
  • Experience with Excel and ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support billing and receivables across Lead-to-Cash processes.
  • Manage billing operations, rate publications, disputes, and cash application.

Purpose of the Position:

Join CPKC and play a critical role in supporting the systems and processes that power our Billing and Receivables organization. In this position, you will contribute to a wide range of activities across the Lead-to-Cash cycle, including billing operations, rate publications, customer dispute resolution, collections, and cash application management. Combining analytical problem-solving with continuous improvement, you will help enhance efficiency, ensure compliance with controls, and support key business outcomes. Position Accountabilities:
  • Support Billing and Receivables systems, processes, and activities within the Shared Services organization, ensuring accurate and efficient execution across the Lead-to-Cash cycle
  • Manage and support billing operations, contract rate publications, customer disputes, collections, and cash application activities while delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze business processes, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and implement best practices that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with established controls, policies, and procedures while maintaining the integrity and reliability of financial and operational processes
  • Lead small to medium-sized projects and contribute to larger initiatives by researching issues, developing solutions, and driving successful outcomes
  • Solve moderately complex business challenges, contribute to departmental objectives, and provide informal guidance and knowledge sharing to team members while building strong cross-functional partnerships
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience, preferably in accounting or transportation industries
  • Working knowledge of billing, rating, invoicing and accounts receivable practices
  • Railroad transportation experience is an asset
  • Problem solving & decision making - able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a full understanding of issues; able to use reason, review facts and weigh options
  • Attention to Detail – able to maintain workload without compromising accuracy
  • Proficiency in Excel is a requirement and SAP is an asset
  • English fluency is required, Spanish or French fluency is an asset

Management Conductor Program
