Job description

The role is part of North American and EMEA Operations monitoring and processing of Corporate Events for RBC Capital Markets securities trading businesses and its clients.

The role ensures that Corporate Events are captured, reconciled, monitored, and funded where required. The operations role is a first line of defence to trading businesses, ensures accurate books and records are maintained whilst providing a seamless client experience.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities :

  1. Be responsible for the processing, balancing, and reconciliation of positions related to mergers, conversions, and other corporate events. Specifically, scrubbing announcements, balancing entitlements, processing mandatory actions, supporting voluntary actions, processing protect and liability notices, and allocating dividend and interest payments.
  2. Monitor, manage, and execute instructions related to corporate actions, stock records, and assignments, adhering to RBC attestation policy.
  3. Understand and abide by the Payment Risk Standing Order at all times.
  4. Ensure all daily tasks and controls are completed in line with departmental policies and procedures.
  5. Escalate any unusual behavior or processing issues to the Team Manager or above promptly, following the Operations Escalation Policy.
  6. Investigate processing issues and recommend actions to the Team Manager. Assist in executing approved changes.
  7. Assist the Team Manager or Department Head with projects, process improvements, or new business initiatives as needed.
  8. Develop product and market knowledge to ensure processes are appropriate and support colleagues during busy periods.
  9. Provide excellent client service to internal and external clients, responding to queries within agreed timeframes.
Technical Skills Required :
  • Good knowledge of Equity & Fixed Income products and processes.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and implement changes effectively.
  • High PC literacy, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
