Job description

Build Your AML Expertise in a Growing Financial Services Organization! We are partnering with a well-established Saskatchewan-based financial services organization to recruit an AML Compliance Analyst to join its Saskatoon team.

About the Role

This is a newly created position with the opportunity to become an important part of the organization's evolving Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance program.

For this particular search, our client is focused on candidates who are currently based in the Saskatoon area. While we appreciate interest from candidates considering relocation to Saskatchewan, relocation candidates are not being considered for this position at this time.

We're looking for someone who is analytical, naturally curious and highly detail-oriented—someone who enjoys investigating information, identifying potential risks and asking questions when something doesn't quite add up. You don't necessarily need to be an AML expert. Experience within banking, credit unions, lending, leasing, compliance, risk or other financial services environments could provide an excellent foundation for this opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Complete AML reviews for new customer onboarding, including identity verification and ultimate beneficial ownership (UBO) assessment
  • Conduct customer risk assessments and assign appropriate risk ratings
  • Complete Politically Exposed Person (PEP) and sanctions screening
  • Monitor customer accounts and transaction activity for unusual patterns or potential risk
  • Review corporate registrations, entity information and changes in ownership
  • Monitor repayment activity and investigate inconsistencies or concerns
  • Conduct adverse media reviews and assess potential suspicious activity
  • Complete monthly sanctions and listed-entity screening and reporting
  • Maintain clear, accurate and well-organized AML documentation
  • Escalate higher‑risk or unusual activity when appropriate
  • Work with internal teams to obtain information and resolve compliance matters
  • Contribute ideas to strengthen AML processes, controls and efficiencies

As this is a developing compliance function, you'll also play an important role in building and maintaining the AML data required to support the program. During non‑peak periods, data gathering, validation and input into the AML system will be a meaningful part of the position.

What We're Looking For
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in AML, compliance, banking, credit unions, lending, financial services, risk or a related area
  • Exposure to AML/KYC, customer due diligence, risk assessment or financial investigations is an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Sound judgment and the confidence to investigate or elevate concerns
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Comfort working with data and technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative, team‑oriented approach

Above all, we're looking for someone who is curious and thorough. You enjoy digging into information, understanding the story behind the numbers and following something through until you're confident it makes sense.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is a chance to join a successful, growing Saskatchewan organization and develop specialized expertise in an increasingly important area of financial services.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn, take ownership, contribute ideas and help shape processes as the organization’s AML program continues to develop.

If you have a foundation in financial services, compliance or risk and are interested in building a career in AML and financial crime prevention, we’d love to hear from you.
