Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto is seeking a Manager of AML/ATF Models and Analytics to lead advanced predictive modelling and AML/ATF rule development for client and payment screening. You will own end-to-end analytics, model governance, and translate complex outputs for senior stakeholders.

The role requires collaboration with technology, data, risk, and compliance teams, delivering dashboards (Power BI) and measurable improvements in model performance and alert quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline.
• Strong technical proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience extracting, transforming, and analyzing large datasets to support analytics and model development.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, tuning, and implementing analytical, statistical, and/or machine learning models.
• Experience working with AML/ATF, financial crime, screening, fraud, risk analytics, or other regulated domains is asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead data extraction, transformation, and advanced analysis using Python (pandas, numpy) and SQL to support scalable analytics and model development.
• Design, develop, test, tune, and implement statistical and ML models, including AML/ATF client and payment screening rules.
• Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality gaps and enrichment opportunities.
• Evaluate screening system effectiveness, identify risks and performance issues, and provide recommendations.
• Develop analytical views or dashboards (Power BI) to communicate trends and model performance to senior stakeholders.
