Job summary

Skyservice in Mississauga is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Lead Technician to perform avionics-related activities on aircraft in hangar and ramp environments. You will lead major inspection and modification projects and supervise junior technicians and apprentices.

You will ensure all aircraft documents are completed, components are certified, and compliance with Transport Canada regulations; participate in training; maintain safe work environments; and support supervision on related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Valid Transport Canada Category E License.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in avionics or related role.
  • Experience with corporate aircraft types is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail with a positive attitude and good teamwork.
  • Willingness to work weekends and night shifts.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Efficiently perform all avionics-related activities on aircraft as requested by the customer, both in the hangar and on the ramp;
  • Act as a lead on major aircraft inspection and modification projects and be responsible for supervising and guiding the work performed by junior technicians and/or apprentices assigned to these projects;
  • Ensure that all aircraft documents are duly completed;
  • Ensure that each component installed on the aircraft is certified;
  • Fulfill the tasks and responsibilities described in the Avionics Service Control Manual and ensure compliance with Transport Canada standard regulations;
  • Participate in training courses as assigned by management;
  • Comply with the SMS (Safety Management System) policy;
  • Maintain and ensure a clean and safe working environment at all times;
  • Assist in all other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Valid Transport Canada Category E License;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related position;
  • Experience working with corporate aircraft types is an asset;
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work under pressure;
  • Attention to detail; Positive attitude; Good team spirit; Good communication skills;
  • Flexible to work assigned shifts (weekend/night).
EDUCATION:
  • Aircraft Maintenance/Avionics Technical Diploma or equivalent
