BC Women's Hospital and Health Centre is hiring an Ambulance Readiness Technician (ART) in Parksville, BC. This role focuses on sanitizing medical equipment, preparing ambulances, and ensuring operational readiness while adhering to safety regulations. Ideal candidates will possess a Grade 10 education and a valid Class 5 driver's license, along with strong communication and organizational skills. Reporting to the Manager, the Ambulance Readiness Technician (ART) is responsible for sanitizing and processing critical medical equipment, restocking supplies on vehicles, performing and documenting vehicle checks, receiving goods, and maintaining stockroom and work areas to maximize BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) resource availability. Ensure quality assurance and improvement for related items, in accordance with BCAS policies and procedures, prior to and/or during vehicle shifts.
This position requires working rotating shifts and some overnight travel. Must have the physical ability to perform all functions required to clean, sanitize, and stock ambulances, including proper PPE use and the ability to lift 40kgs.
Education, Training, and Experience: Grade 10, related experience or an equivalent combination. Valid Class 5 driver’s license REQUIRED.
Skills and Abilities: Effective communication, operation of related equipment, physical ability to perform duties, and organizational skills.
