Job summary

Sofina Foods Inc. is seeking General Labourers for our Brampton Plant located at 145 East Drive. The role involves work on the day shift from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with opportunities for increases based on time and performance.

Expect to participate in changeover procedures, quality checks, and material handling in a temperature-controlled environment. The position offers competitive hourly wages starting at 22.32 CAD, with annual increases and a $1000 referral bonus per successful referral.

Qualifications

• Experience within a food manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills, both written and spoken English.
• Attention to detail with basic computer skills and strong leadership skills.
• Capable of lifting 25kg.
• Require to stand for 8 hours with some lifting and bending.
• Ability to follow and execute instructions given by Managers/Supervisors.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
• Work in conditions under 10˚C.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in changeover procedures and achieve line speed efficiencies.
• Visual quality checks of product against customer and internal specifications (including foreign materials and weight checks).
• Ability to maintain cleanliness of areas of responsibility.
• Adhere to individual Product Standard Operating Procedures for components and packaging material.
• Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with Health and Safety requirements.
• Pack various meat products into trays/boxes.
• Operate slicing machine and weight scale, if necessary.
• Complete all checklists correctly in a timely manner.
• Pushing & pulling of skids and racks.
• Other duties as required/assigned.

What we have to offer

• $22.32 /hour to start - $23.56 /hour after 6 months - $24.80/ hour after 1 year
• Annual Increases based on Collective Bargaining Agreement
