About the Role

The Coordinator, Alumni Relations provides oversight and support to SFU Alumni Relations events management and engagement efforts. SFU events take place locally and globally. The Coordinator is responsible for the execution and day-to-day event management of SFU's alumni growing alumni events and programming portfolio. The Coordinator participates in on-going events planning, event strategy, communication and stewardship of alumni volunteers and donors. This position plans and oversees the management of alumni engagement events and programming and supports the development and implementation of new unit initiatives that advance the priorities of the Advancement and Alumni Engagement's strategic plan.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Arts, Business Administration or Communications and two years of related experience in areas such as working with Indigenous and multicultural groups, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of effective volunteer engagement and management principles and practices.
  • Good knowledge of University policies and procedures, and Freedom of Information/Protection of Privacy Act regulations.
  • Good knowledge of fundraising concepts and best practice.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to inclusivity.
  • Knowledge in the best practices in equity, diversity and inclusion.
