Compensation Range: $6,747.50 - $9,701.42 CAD Monthly. The compensation range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.

The UBC Sauder Development and Alumni Engagement team has a mission to inspire involvement and investment in UBC Sauder to drive innovation, further business knowledge and lead change for a better world. The Alumni Engagement team strives to develop lifelong, meaningful relationship between the school and its alumni.
The Alumni Engagement Officer is instrumental in developing and managing priority alumni relationships in the Lower Mainland, and across national and international markets, in order to advance the school’s strategic goals. Duties can range from developing, coordinating, and executing plans for events and services to advance the UBC Sauder Alumni Engagement program. The Officer will build a depth of knowledge on UBC Sauder alumni through research and relationship-building, and work closely with UBC Sauder leadership, other academic units and partners across campus to share this knowledge. The Officer also contributes to the development and strategy of alumni communications, including oversight of targeted email communications related to their portfolio, website maintenance and social media in consultation with the UBC Sauder Marketing and Communications team.
This role requires a thorough knowledge of the activities undertaken by the UBC Sauder, as well as knowledge of alumni UBC and University policies and procedures. Alumni engagement outreach with volunteers and event activity may require work beyond the typical work day. Flexible work hours and ability to travel will be necessary.
The Alumni Engagement Officer is a member of the UBC Sauder Development and Alumni Engagement team. Reports to the Manager, Alumni Engagement. Interacts with UBC Sauder Dean, Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Engagement, the Development and Alumni Engagement team, UBC Sauder employees and faculty. Liaises with alumni UBC, campus and off-campus communities, alumni volunteers and the general public, and builds strategic partnerships to contribute to the successful execution of the school’s Alumni Engagement program.

The Alumni Engagement Officer contributes to the public image of the UBC Sauder School of Business and ensures that visual, verbal and written communication is professional in appearance and tone. The incumbent liaises regularly with senior administration, prominent alumni, student leaders, and donors and is expected to exercise judgment, diplomacy, and tact in all interactions. The Officer is responsible for the timely and accurate information to be shared with peers. Must respect confidentiality of information handled. Failure to exercise appropriate judgment could increase direct costs, contribute to lost opportunities, damage the reputation of the unit, the school, and/or the University, and result in alienation of students, alumni members and volunteers, university faculty members and officials, and have a negative impact on internal and external relationships.
Supervision Received: Reports to the Manager, Alumni Engagement, Sauder School of Business. Works independently, under limited supervision. Sets priorities and performs most duties independently.
Supervision Given: May supervise student employees.
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of two years of experience in a post-secondary education institute that includes experience working with alumni relations, advancement, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
