Job Purpose:
The Alternate Mortgage Solutions Specialist provides mortgage solutions to members when Coast Capital cannot fulfill a mortgage within its policies and channels. This involves referring members to external lending partners who can meet their needs.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and follow up on leads to maximize opportunities, understanding member needs.
- Review declined mortgages, contact members to gauge interest, and refer to external lenders.
- Support Mobile Mortgage Specialists, Branch, and AC sales teams regarding external lender options.
- Promote referrals to Coast Capital through outreach to Realtors, Developers, and networks.
- Maintain relationships with external referral partners for consistent service.
- Stay informed about external lending products to provide optimal referral options.
- Underwrite mortgages ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, reviewing documentation and calculations.
- Collaborate across departments to support members' financial wellbeing and restructure applications as needed.
- Work with partners to ensure a consistent service image externally and internally, including outbound calls and collaboration with branches and the Advice Centre.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High School diploma plus some post-secondary education.
- 4-6 years of mortgage sales experience, with strong lending skills and credit underwriting expertise.
- Proven business development skills, capable of generating and nurturing leads and client relationships.
- Proficiency with relevant technology and systems, including external application interfaces and Coast's CALMS system.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, responsible and leading by example.
- Established network of contacts (COIs) and ability to develop pipeline opportunities.
- Flexible working hours based on client needs in a hybrid environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and adapt to changing environments.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to explore member needs and recommend suitable solutions, embodying our purpose.
