Job description

Job Title: Senior Analyst, Derivatives

Are you ready to dive into the dynamic world of derivatives? As our Senior Analyst, Derivatives, you’ll be at the forefront of financial innovation, tackling complex technical research, ensuring top-notch compliance, and delivering insightful reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities:
  1. Review commodity and other complex contracts to determine proper accounting treatment, notably under FASB ASC Topic 815 (Derivatives and Hedging).
  2. Prepare the monthly mark-to-market entries, including validating the calculation of routine and complex derivatives.
  3. Prepare monthly management reports, schedules, and explanations, including variance analysis of derivatives balances.
  4. Reconcile and confirm monthly statements with financial trade counterparties.
  5. Settle financial trades, including OTC and exchange transactions, ensuring timely and accurate margin transactions.
  6. Assist with quarterly and annual external audits; provide reports as requested.
  7. Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with ICFR and risk management policies.
  8. Build strong relationships with commercial and risk teams to ensure timely review of contracts.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years in a comparable role within a public company.
  • Strong understanding of internal accounting controls and SOX guidelines.
  • Proficiency in derivatives accounting is highly desirable.
  • Experience overseeing risk management is a significant advantage.
