AltaGas is seeking a dynamic and analyticalMarket Risk Analystto join our Commodity Risk team. This enterprise-wide role supports both ourMidstream and Utilities businesses, offering a unique opportunity to work across the value chain. This role blendsdata science, risk analysis, and stakeholder engagement, focusing on exposure reporting, reconciliation, and building data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will collaborate across Front, Middle, and Back Office teams, optimize reporting tools, and use coding and ETRM systems to enhance risk measurement and decision-making.

You Will:

  • Collaborate across Front, Middle, and Back Office teamsto ensure accurate valuation, reconciliation, and reporting of commodity transactions

  • Analyze internal and external market datato build compelling visuals and data stories that inform strategic decisions

  • Develop and optimize exposure reporting tools and dashboards, ensuring data integrity and alignment across systems

  • Partner with Front Office stakeholdersto build rapport and deliver actionable insights that support commercial decision-making

  • Apply data science techniques and coding skills(e.g., Python, R) to uncover trends, assess market risks, and improve forecasting

  • Support transaction valuation and ad hoc projectsby collecting and analyzing relevant market and deal data

  • Utilize and enhance ETRM systems(e.g., Allegro) and other platforms to ensure accurate, timely reporting

  • Explain commodity market movements and driversto both technical and non-technical audiences, bridging the gap between data and strategy

You Have:

  • Anundergraduate degreein a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Engineering)

  • Strong analytical skillsand a solid understanding of market risk modeling (e.g., VaR, stress testing, option pricing)

  • Proficiency in data storytelling and visualization, using tools like Power BI to communicate insights effectively

  • Advanced Excel skillsand the ability to query SQL databases for data extraction and analysis

  • Experience withhigh-level programming languages(e.g., Python, R, Java, C#) for automation and data analysis

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and explain complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders

  • Aself-starter mindset, comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
