Job Description

AltaGas - Representative, Energy Exports

AltaGas is seeking a commercially driven and globally minded Representative to join our Energy Exports team. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of our growing LPG export business, helping to shape and execute strategies that connect Canadian energy to international markets. You’ll work cross-functionally to drive commercial success, optimize logistics, and support the development of our Ridley Island Energy Export Facility (REEF).

What You’ll Do:

  • Negotiate LPG cargo sales and long-term offtake agreements with international partners.
  • Develop and execute trading strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Support the commercialization and ramp-up of the REEF terminal.
  • Analyze trade performance and market data to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Optimize product flow by working closely with marine and rail logistics teams.
  • Provide commercial input into strategic capital projects and deal structuring.
  • Collaborate with finance and risk teams to manage commodity exposure within policy.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in global LPG markets.
  • Contribute to budgeting, strategic planning, and cost optimization initiatives.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, or Engineering (preferred).
  • 5+ years of commercial experience in commodity trading or marketing.
  • Knowledge of global LPG flows and midstream operations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a track record of building win-win partnerships.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate macro trends into actionable plans.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • International experience and familiarity with marine logistics are strong assets.
