Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain operational safety: assess and mitigate risks to Top Aces (TA) equipment, personnel and reputation.
  • Maintain an Airline Transport Pilot License or a Commercial Pilot License, medical certification, and Company Operations Manual required currencies.
  • 100% compliance with applicable Transport Canada and/or Department of National Defence regulations and training rules.
  • When TA aircraft are operated outside the domestic airspace of Canada, pilots may be required to refer to foreign publications and adhere to foreign regulations in order to safely and effectively carry out their mission.
  • Conduct operations in accordance with TA Company Operations Manual, Aircraft Flight Manual and Standard Operating Procedures. Deviations from established procedures should only occur for reasons of safety.
  • Professional, polite, proficient combat support in accordance with customer defined requirements.
  • Communicate any issues (knowledge, systems, procedures, proficiency, and support) that impact your ability to accomplish the above listed requirements.
  • Promptly communicate any incident that results in, or had a high probability of resulting in: damage, injury, significant positive/negative perception by the customer, or media attention.
  • Support engagement of other TA employees through positive, proactive leadership on and off the job; your attitude at work is contagious.
  • To facilitate appropriate recognition, communicate any exceptional performance by any TA employee.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
SUBJECT MATTER / OPERATING LOCATION EXPERTISE
  • Identify and establish relationships with key contacts at the operational level or those who define/direct training requirements.
  • Maintain assigned reference material in the TA knowledge store including regulations, procedures, maps, mission data cards, and any other pertinent information to assure customer requirements are safely achieved.
  • Maintain relevance of reference material through, at minimum, an annual review/update to be complete NLT 1 Nov. Any item that could significantly impact TA operations should be immediately forwarded to the Lead Pilot for dissemination in AIF.
  • As required, produce Gen Book information, chapters and phase brief amendments.
  • Aid in the evolution and delivery of professional development training for all pilots.
  • Provide, at a minimum, an annual update briefing for all pilots during ground school.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
  • Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot License or Commercial Pilot License, Instrument Rating and valid category 1 medical.
  • Minimum 2000 hours Pilot-In-Command in fighter aircraft, with minimum 1000 hours PIC multi-role fighter attack aircraft.
  • Minimum 3 years operational experience within the last 10 years.
  • Experience with Large Force Employment, Close Air Support, Precision Guided Munitions, Accurate Munitions and Unguided Munitions.
  • Able to communicate in English; French an asset.
  • Qualified Fighter Weapons Instructor is an asset.
  • Have held an operational flying position within the last 2 years.
  • Experience in operating a Towed Target system is an asset.
  • Ability to perform all work in support of our Corporate Values of Excellence, Service, Integrity … Together.

Occupational Health and Safety

You will have the following responsibilities in order to comply with the company's Occupational Health and Safety program:

  • Working in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety acts and regulations
  • Following safe work practices and procedures and using safeguards and personal protective equipment
  • Reporting hazards (such as unsafe situations and activities) to their supervisor immediately.
Security Clearance Requirements / CGP / ITAR

Position requires Level II clearance with the Canadian Government and the ability to gain access to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
