Job summary

Top Aces in Canada is seeking a capable Aircraft Engine mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul engines and accessories, ensuring compliance with manuals and safety standards, and you will participate in training and safety programs.

The role requires proven experience in aviation mechanics or a professional aeronautics diploma, ability to work independently, and bilingual English/French.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar position or a professional diploma in aeronautics.
  • Experience in mechanics or aircraft engine maintenance; turbo-jet engines knowledge is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul or replacement of parts is done per manuals.
  • Perform engine work including inspection, troubleshooting and control.
  • Inspect and repair accessories and engine modules per available capabilities.
  • Verify inventory availability and order supplies.
  • Support safety programs and Quality Management System.
  • Attend training courses to maintain qualifications.
  • Ensure snow removal from installations.
  • Assist in on-the-job training of personnel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to company policies and procedures;
  • Ensure inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul or replacement of parts is done in accordance with approved Manuals and procedures;
  • Perform required work on engines (inspection, troubleshooting, repairs, control, etc.);
  • Carry out controls, inspections and repairs of accessories and engine modules according to the available capabilities (injector controls, ignition system, accessory painting, etc.)
  • Verify inventory availability and order supplies;
  • Support Top Aces safety programs and Quality Management System;
  • Attend training courses to ensure continued qualifications;
  • Ensure snow is removed from installations.
  • Assist in the on-the job training and instruction of personnel as required; and
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor;
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar position and/or a professional diploma in aeronautics (or equivalent).
  • Experience in mechanics or in aircraft engine maintenance is preferred, knowledge in turbo-jet engines is an asset
  • Team player, but able to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to speak French, functional in English language in order to read, understand and interpret manuals, policies and procedures. Bilingual an asset;
  • High level of professionalism continuously shows courtesy and respect for team members.
Physical Requirements
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime and shift work according to flight operations;
  • May be required to work outdoors;
  • Travel may be required for the position;
  • International travel may also be required in this role.

Security Clearance Requirements/ CGP / ITAR

Position requires Controlled Goods Clearance and Level 2 Secret Clearance
