Job summary

RBC in Toronto is offering a 4-month Winter 2027 Co-op in Group Risk Management. You will contribute to ETL/ELT pipelines, data quality checks, and AI-assisted tooling to accelerate risk reporting.

This paid student placement requires enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary program and a willingness to work within Ontario. As a member of GRM-BSLR, you will build and validate SQL/Python data processes, automate recurring tasks, and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program in a quantitative field.
• Exposure to ETL/ELT concepts and data transformation logic.
• Python for data manipulation, pipeline scripting, and automation.
• SQL and working knowledge of relational databases.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
• Self-driven and able to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for ALM risk data.
• Engineer validation logic in SQL and Python to reconcile data.
• Automate data quality checks with clear pass/fail reporting.
• Apply AI-assisted tooling to accelerate development and documentation.
• Move recurring tasks to a scheduler/orchestrator with alerts.
• Monitor pipelines, resolve failures, and investigate data issues.
