Job summary

Kenaidan Contracting Ltd. seeks an Alliance Director to lead large transit infrastructure programs in the Greater Toronto Area.

You will oversee alliance governance, client and partner coordination, and risk-managed delivery to meet safety, schedule, and budget targets. The role requires 15–20 years in construction management, an engineering degree (chartered preferred), and proven leadership in alliancing or JV delivery models.

Qualifications

  • 15–20 years of progressive experience in construction management, with major transit, rail, or underground infrastructure projects.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Chartered/Professional designation preferred
  • Extensive experience leading major infrastructure projects (transit/rail preferred)
  • Proven leadership within alliancing, joint venture, or collaborative delivery models
  • Strong understanding of: Progressive design-build and target cost models
  • Project controls, forecasting, and risk management
  • Complex urban construction (e.g., live transit environments, underground works)
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder influence at executive levels
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in alliance financial frameworks
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to align diverse partners
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capability
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust across teams

Responsibilities

Alliance Director

The Alliance Director is responsible to lead the successful delivery of large, complex transit infrastructure projects within a collaborative (alliancing) delivery model. This role is accountable for bringing together client, partner, and internal teams under a unified governance structure to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes on time and on budget.

This role will play a critical leadership role in shaping alliance behaviours, driving integration across all parties, and ensuring performance aligns with shared objectives and target outcomes.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Alliance Leadership & Governance
  • Act as the senior leader within the alliance, ensuring alignment across client, JV partners, and key stakeholders
  • Establish and embed alliance governance, decision‑making frameworks, and performance metrics
  • Promote a high‑performing, transparent, and collaborative “one team” culture
Strategic Delivery & Performance
  • Lead the delivery of large‑scale infrastructure programs, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and financial targets are achieved
  • Oversee integrated project planning, design development, and execution from early design through to handover
  • Drive continuous improvement through lean methodologies, innovation, and best practices
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with the client and external stakeholders
  • Act as the primary interface for strategic matters, risk resolution, and performance alignment
  • Ensure effective coordination with regulatory bodies, community stakeholders, and adjacent property owners
Commercial & Risk Management
  • Oversee target cost performance, risk/reward mechanisms, and alliance commercial frameworks
  • Lead the identification and management of risks and opportunities across the program
  • Ensure robust change control, forecasting, and financial governance
Team Leadership & Capability Building
  • Lead, inspire, and develop multi-disciplinary teams across alliance partners
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development
  • Support succession planning and capability building within the organization
Safety & Sustainability
  • Champion a strong safety culture and visible leadership
  • Ensure all works are delivered in a safe, environmentally responsible, and compliant manner
Qualifications & Experience:
