Job summary

The Toronto-Dominion Bank in Toronto, Ontario is seeking an AI/ML Platform Engineer to deliver enterprise Gen AI capabilities and solutions on coding assistant platforms. You will collaborate with cloud platform engineers, developers, and security teams to enable self-service automation and secure AI/ML services across TD.

The role requires 1–3 years of AI/ML platform experience, proficiency in Azure, Terraform, and GitHub Actions, and familiarity with Gen AI tooling such as Copilot and OpenAI

Qualifications

• 1-3 years AI and ML platform engineer experience.
• Experience developing platform orchestration code in Azure Python SDK, Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Gen AI coding assistant tools (Github Copilot, Claude, Open AI Codex, etc.).
• Strong expertise delivering Cloud IaC using Terraform and Git Actions.
• Understanding of security risks and compliance in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver enterprise Gen AI capabilities and self-service automation for AI/ML services.
• Collaborate with cloud, network, security, and risk teams to enforce security policies.
• Develop/consume APIs and Webhooks for multi-directional integration with enterprise systems.
• Configure and manage Cloud and Gen AI SaaS tools; implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Support DevOps engineering teams and participate in Scrum practices.
• Troubleshoot cloud connectivity, DNS, and PKI-related security concerns.

Job Description

We are looking for AI / ML Platform Engineer to deliver enterprise Gen AI capabilities and solutions on coding assistant platforms. The perfect candidate will have previous AI / ML cloud experience delivering enterprise solutions within financial services including knowledge of the security and regulatory requirements. The role is focused on AI and ML service enablement along with applying best practices and engineering principles configuring and managing Cloud and Gen AI SaaS Tools. You will work in collaboration with cloud engineering, network, security and risk management to deliver secured Coding Assistant solutions that meet security policies and standards within TD. You will collaborate with developers in our Cloud Platform engineering team and lines of business to implement and continuously improve the framework and tools to support self-service automation of the AI and ML services.

• Passionate about Generative AI and Machine Learning AIOps/MLOps mindset enabling services and developing pipelines for managing training models and production models.
• Collaborate with internal application development teams to leverage AI/ML services to solve business objectives.
• Understand security, risks and mitigations to load data and training models securely into Cloud.
• Programming skills with experience in API and Webhook development using Python, Git Actions and Terraform.
• Write and use Azure RM and Terraform templates.
• Understand Azure security features (data protection, authentication, RBAC, etc).
• Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), handling public key and private key certificates in Azure environment for Paas services and applications.
• Ability to troubleshoot DNS, Azure connectivity, NSG, routing.
• Proficiency in cloud automation using CLI and configuration pipelines.
• Understand concepts related to deploying platform and data analytics via CI/CD pipeline.
• Ensure that all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance controls.
• Develop/Consume APIs, SDKs and Webhook for multi-directional integration of cloud orchestration platform with enterprise systems, DevOps Tools and cloud platforms.
• Enable agentic workloads through automation in a multi platform environment. (Microsoft Foundry, Copilot Studio, Github Copilot).
• Ability to participate in fast-paced DevOps Engineering teams within Scrum agile processes.
• A critical thinker with strong research and analytics skills.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and an ability to work independently and in a team.
• AI Service requests fulfillment and operations.

Experience & Education

1-3 years AI and ML platform engineer

1-3 years of experience developing platform orchestration code in Azure Python SDK, Terraform and GitHub Actions

1+ years of experience context engineering

Experience with managing Gen AI Coding assistant tools (Github Copilot, Claude, Open AI Codex, etc..)

Strong expertise with delivering Cloud Infrastructure As Code (IAC) leveraging CI/CD pipelines, Terraform and Git Actions.

Experience with managing agentic platforms and tools.

Understanding of different GenAI models, development frameworks (Langchain, Semantic Kernel) and AI ecosystem tooling (evaluation, monitoring, governance, security, vector databases)

Ability to understand and identify security risks related to GenAI and techniques.

Must be a self-starter, demonstrated ability to take independent action to achieve results.

Highly developed critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
