Job summary

Manulife Financial invites a senior cloud platform engineer to join the Canadian Segment Technology team. You will design AKS clusters, integrate CI/CD pipelines, and work with partner teams to deliver a secure, scalable developer experience.

The role emphasizes automation, IaC, and AI-assisted tooling to reduce toil and accelerate delivery, with strong emphasis on security and governance. Hybrid work in Waterloo, Ontario is supported with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in cloud computing, with Azure strongly preferred.
• Expertise in automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, etc.).
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve automation and workflows.
• Experience operating shared platform services such as Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD, observability, or security tooling.
• Strong understanding of networking and security concepts.
• Experience with Identity and Access Management (Azure AD, RBAC).
• Proficiency with cloud networking infrastructure and distributed system patterns.
• Hands-on experience with API gateways and cloud architectures.
• Strong system administration background.
• Scripting with PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes (AKS)

Responsibilities

• Design the AKS cluster model for the Canadian segment.
• Implement improvements to existing infrastructure with zero business disruption.
• Build an integrated end-to-end developer experience by combining AKS with CI/CD, monitoring, and security services.
