The Aircraft Structure Technician (ACS) performs elementary, servicing, and maintenance duties supporting the Main Operating Base (MOB). This position reports to the Main Operating Base in Greenwood, NS.
- Perform first, second, and third-level repairs on aircraft structural components and ground support equipment.
- Assess damage, control corrosion, and carry out repairs, modifications, and replacements of aircraft structures using recognized techniques and specialized tools.
- Support ramp duties, including pre/post-flight support, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and installation/removal of mission equipment, as well as crash and salvage response.
- Support maintenance, ferry, and deployment operations by flying as necessary.
- Travel and work at other bases, support remote site operations, mobile repair teams, and ferry flights.
- Provide on-the-job training to colleagues.
- Attend training for trade development, qualification, and certification.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by sweeping and cleaning hangar, shop, stores, and office areas.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and directives.
- Supervise other employees as required.
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
What You Will Bring:
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft structures, inspection techniques, damage assessment, materials, and hardware.
- Knowledge of corrosion control techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation such as manuals, drawings, blueprints, and procedures.
- Proficiency with standard computer programs and specialized software as needed.
- Ability to operate vehicles and tow tractors.
- Graduate of a recognized aircraft structural repair course or apprenticeship, holding a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license or equivalent military qualification.
- At least 3 years of aviation maintenance experience.
- Eligibility for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Secret Level II Security Clearance.
