Job summary

IMP Aerospace & Defence is seeking an Aircraft Refinisher to prepare and paint aircraft and components, ensuring work is completed to spec within set timeframes. The role includes mentoring peers and upholding SCA requirements.

The candidate must hold a valid paint trade certificate, adhere to safety standards, and be able to work at heights. Proficiency with technical documentation and maintenance of painting equipment is required.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid paint trade certificate from a recognized school.
  • Be conversant with safety standards and procedures for the paint shop.
  • Able to read and interpret technical documentation (manuals, drawings, WOs, RES).
  • Must be eligible for Canadian CGP/ITAR and related security clearances.
  • Proficient in cleaning and maintenance of spray guns and paint equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out painting and related activities including sealing and stenciling on aircraft and related products.
  • Prepares surfaces (stripping, cleaning, masking, tack ragging) as needed.
  • Provides SCA for all paint tasks and completes related paperwork accurately.
  • Mentors and leads paint department personnel; supervises others on the job.
  • Performs additional tasks and assists colleagues in the Aircraft Painter/Refinishing/Stripper group.
