Who We Are
WAAS Aerospace Inc. has been in operation since 2014 and is a Transport Canada-approved Maintenance Organization (AMO). We operate out of facilities located on Montreal’s South Shore at the Montréal Metropolitan Airport (CYHU) and in Québec City at Jean Lesage International Airport (CYQB).
We provide line and scheduled maintenance services, avionics modifications, and research and development services for business jets and large aircraft. We offer 24/7 Aircraft on Ground (AOG) services to help clients meet their on-time departure commitments and minimize downtime.
Our parent company, Chrono Aviation, was founded in Québec City in 2012. Initially operating with just a Pilatus PC-12 and two pilots, the Chrono Aviation Group now has a fleet of 12 aircraft and a team of 200 employees.
Role and Context
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprentice (Avionics) supports certified technicians in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of aircraft avionics systems in compliance with Transport Canada regulations and internal procedures. This role is designed to train a future certified technician and equip them with the necessary skills to grow in the field of aircraft maintenance.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with the inspection of aircraft avionics systems (navigation, communication, flight control, etc.);
- Perform preventative checks and repairs under supervision;
- Diagnose technical issues related to avionics components;
- Participate in the installation and upgrading of electronic systems;
- Complete technical documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements;
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment;
- Follow occupational health and safety policies.
Professional Requirements
- College diploma (DEC) in Aircraft Maintenance – Avionics specialization;
- 2 years of recognized experience;
- Criminal background check;
- Drug screening test;
- Willingness to travel occasionally;
- Ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, good judgment, team spirit, and sense of responsibility;
- Language of work: English or French.
