Job description

Term of Appt: Monday - Friday, 30 hours/week

Start date: Immediately

Reporting to: Operations Manager, Person Responsible for Training (PRT)

Salary: $74,618.00 - $88,536.00 annual starting wage, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement (annual increments up to a maximum salary of $114,001.00). Vacation entitlement annually is 240 hours (pro-rated from hire date for current year), to be utilized for summer months (July and August). We offer paid time off between Christmas and New Year's, and an excellent extended health and dental package. Enrolment in the College Pension Plan is mandatory, with basic contributions matched by the Employer.

Northern Lights College is seeking a full-time instructor for the Aircraft Maintenance Technician Program on the Dawson Creek Campus.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who is engaged in aviation and has a passion for teaching and sharing experience. The successful candidate will have a learning-centered mindset eager for personal growth and the opportunity to excel within a team environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid Canadian AME license, Category M1/M2, S or E rating.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical licensed experience.
  • The ability to be an effective and positive team member is essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Preference given to applicants with aircraft endorsements as well as one or more of the following:

  • Experience and/or education in the delivery of post-secondary instruction in aviation.
  • Provincial Instructors Diploma Program (PIDP), or equivalent.
  • Experience with online course delivery platforms (Moodle, Blackboard or D2L).
  • Fixed Wing Turboprop and/or Piston Engine experience.
  • Advanced avionics such as Airbus family, Boeing avionics systems, etc. and field maintenance experience with fundamental avionics systems.
  • Helicopter experience specific to Bell 204/205/206/212/AS350/MD500.
