Responsibilities
- Perform safe and efficient daily aircraft maintenance on the fleet (Boeing 787, 737 NG, 737 MAX and Q400) as assigned.
- Utilize troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to maintain aircraft reliability and safety.

Qualifications
- Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence required (M2 preferred).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience and/or endorsement on Boeing 737 and/or 787 and/or Q400, or equivalent aircraft type is preferred.
- Proven technical aptitude with strong airframe, powerplant, and flight control experience required.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada (must hold a Canadian Passport or Permanent Residency and/or open work permit with PR card in process).
- Must be able to obtain Radio Licence within 6 months of employment.
- Physical ability to lift 62 lbs and sit, kneel and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varied conditions including temperature extremes, confined spaces, heights, and in a noisy environment.
- Maintain a positive fit test to wear safety equipment including respirators.
- Flexibility to work shift work (evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays) including overtime when necessary.
- Must be able to travel for base coverage and/or rescue trips as required.
- Strong computer knowledge and skills using various maintenance programs and Microsoft Office.
Conditions of Employment
- Technical Aviation diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution required.
- Obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) issued by Transport Canada.
- Obtain and maintain Airside Vehicle Operators Permits (AVOP). Must have a valid unrestricted Driver’s Licence and a clean driving record.
- Pre-employment assessment including physical ability and fit testing (audiometric testing).
- Clear police background and criminal record check.
- Offers of employment are conditional on passing a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test. Includes testing for Alcohol, Psychoactive Substances, Illicit Drugs and Cannabis.
This position falls under Group 1 of the collective agreement between AMFA and WestJet.
