Job summary

CAE in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, in partnership with SkyAlyne, seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) - Structures to service and repair aircraft structures. The role involves repairing metal, aluminum and composite assemblies, removing line‑replaceable units, and applying engineering drawings and diagrams to maintain airworthiness.

Relocation assistance is available, with a team of technicians, contractors and instructors.

Qualifications

  • Transport Canada–approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Diploma or ACS equivalence.
  • Valid AME S License (Structures).
  • Eligible to work in Canada (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Work Permit).
  • Ability to obtain Reliability Security Clearance (Government of Canada).
  • Must meet Controlled Goods Directorate and US ITAR compliance requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work day or evening shifts.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, modify, and repair aircraft structural components to ensure ongoing airworthiness.
  • Perform structural repairs on metal, aluminum, and carbon‑composite assemblies.
  • Remove and replace line‑replaceable units and structural components.
  • Interpret and apply technical publications, engineering drawings, and diagrams.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, housekeeping, and shop safety activities.
  • Support specialty maintenance tasks in the structures shop as required.
  • Work within a Phase Inspection team where periodic heavy inspections occur.
  • Collaborate as part of a team composed of technicians, contractors, and instructors.

Join the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program and contribute to training the next generation of Royal Canadian Air Force personnel. In partnership with SkyAlyne, CAE delivers advanced training solutions and immersive learning experiences that support mission readiness. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) - Structures is responsible for performing aircraft servicing and maintenance activities. All for mission-ready excellence.

In This Role, You Will
  • Inspect, modify, and repair aircraft structural components to ensure ongoing airworthiness.
  • Perform structural repairs on metal, aluminum, and carbon‑composite assemblies.

This position is based in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Relocation support is available.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Transport Canada–approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Diploma or Canadian Forces ACS Technician equivalence.
  • Valid AME S License (Structures).
  • Eligible to work in Canada (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Work Permit).
  • Ability to obtain Reliability Security Clearance (Government of Canada).
  • Must meet Controlled Goods Directorate and US ITAR compliance requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work day or evening shifts.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possession of M1 or M2 AME license (considered an asset).
  • Experience with military aviation or ex‑military structures trade background.
  • Prior experience performing structural repairs on aircraft metals or composite materials.
  • Experience working within a Phase Inspection environment.
