Position Profile

We are currently recruiting for experienced CL/Waterbomber Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanics to join our team in Calgary, AB. This role is responsible for checking and maintaining the condition of the aircraft and engine, makes repairs, replacements and adjustments, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Qualified to perform systems installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed MaintenanceTechnician in a AMO environment
  • Responsible to the assigned leader and have ability to take direction verbally and through printed media
  • Basic knowledge of Standard Practices and MechanicsSystems, accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents, manufacturer’s installation manuals
  • Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems i.e., hydraulic, flight controls and major components
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Mechanicssystems and equipment, including powerplant, flight control, hydraulic, landing gear and electrical
  • Perform system checks and inspections to ensure Mechanicssystems are in compliance with industry and safety standards
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment
  • Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions
  • Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft
  • Perform other work as assigned and willing to work shift work
  • Properly utilize Maintenancetest equipment to perform systems tests. Properly utilize and maintain Mechanicshand tools to perform installations and repairs
  • Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e., Power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required

Education & Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience working on the CL
  • Shall hold or working towards a current AME “M” Transport Canada license or related experience
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Internet
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with all De Havilland Aircraft of Canada products consider an asset

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work Monday – Friday 0600-1430
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
