Position Profile

We are currently recruiting for an Aircraft Maintenance Technician - (Licensed & Unlicensed) with experience in Dash 8 / Q 400 / Twin Otter / CL to join our team in Calgary, AB. This role is responsible for checking and maintaining the condition of aircraft and engine, making repairs, replacements, and adjustments in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Qualified to perform systems installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed Maintenance Technician in an AMO environment.
  • Responsible to the assigned leader and have the ability to take direction verbally and through printed media.
  • Basic knowledge of Standard Practices and Mechanics Systems, accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents, and manufacturer’s installation manuals.
  • Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems i.e., hydraulic, flight controls, and major components.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Mechanics systems and equipment, including powerplant, flight control, hydraulic, landing gear, and electrical.
  • Perform system checks and inspections to ensure Mechanics systems are in compliance with industry and safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions.
  • Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft.
  • Perform other work as assigned and be willing to work shift work.
  • Properly utilize Maintenance test equipment to perform systems tests. Properly utilize and maintain Mechanics hand tools to perform installations and repairs.
  • Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e., power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required.

Education & Experience

  • 1-5 years’ experience working on the Dash 8 or Twin Otter or CL.
  • Shall hold or be working towards a current AME “M” Transport Canada license or related experience.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with the Internet.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with all De Havilland Aircraft of Canada products is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work Monday – Friday 0600-1430.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
