Job description

As a licensed M1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) with one or more years of experience working on large aircraft, you’re looking for an opportunity that leverages your experience and gives you more autonomy! This position will support our UK operations and involve rotations within the UK for 5 weeks on/5 weeks off.

Summit Air, headquartered in Yellowknife, NWT, operates across Canada, specializing in passenger charters, cargo transport, and customized flight solutions for industry-leading clients with a legacy of excellence in northern and remote aviation. This is a rotational position supporting our UK operations, with accommodations, flights, and a per diem meal allowance provided.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance on fleet aircraft or aircraft components according to airworthiness standards.
  • Troubleshoot faulty systems.
  • Track and plan maintenance activities and coordinate with Dispatch as required.
  • Maintain spares packages through communication with the stores department.
  • Maintain aircraft records using computerized maintenance tracking systems.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all required paperwork.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of licensed AME experience, preferably with large aircraft.
  • Possess Transport Canada AME License M1.
  • Experience working on the D228 or SC-7 Skyvan is a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Proven observational, decision-making, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with leadership qualities.

Work Conditions:

  • This position supports our UK operations with a rotation of 5 weeks on/5 weeks off. All travel, accommodations, and a meal per diem are provided.
