JD Aero Technical in Canada is hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Apprentice to perform base maintenance tasks while pursuing an AME license. The role supports fast-paced operations, requires good communication and teamwork, and offers opportunities to advance to senior roles.

The position emphasizes adherence to airworthiness standards, proper documentation, and safety procedures, with standard weekday hours and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college with a diploma in aircraft maintenance.
  • Working towards becoming a licensed AME is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are a requirement; able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and mechanical experience.
  • Must have a clean criminal background and provide a valid police criminal record check.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance activities in accordance with airworthiness standards and manuals.
  • Request parts and materials using manufacturer manuals.
  • Ensure all documentation of work performed is clear, accurate, and signed daily.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures; participate in SMS and report hazards.
  • Maintain a clean work area and exercise FOD vigilance.
  • Conduct maintenance on aircraft and components as directed by the AME Lead.
  • Complete paperwork and generate defect reports; perform checks when trained.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of aircraft interiors and exteriors.
  • Store and handle tools and equipment safely.
