Job summary

Top Aces, a global leader in ADAIR and JTAC training, is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our operations. The role involves maintaining airworthiness, reviewing logs, and ensuring compliance with Canadian regulations and company procedures across maintenance tasks.

You will work under the Base Lead or Deployment Lead, perform inspections, troubleshooting, and tests, and support ongoing training and safety standards in dynamic environments. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Holds a valid TCCA AME M2 license in a recognized discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to problem solve and troubleshoot.
  • Able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain validity of the AME M2 license at all times.
  • Review Technical Log, Purchase Order and related maintenance documents.
  • Initiate a Work Order with check sheets and attachments.
  • Assign maintenance tasks to trained personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, CARs and TA policies.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul or replace parts as required.
  • Inform the DOM of irregularities on maintenance status.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible to the Base Lead and/or Deployment Lead for the performance of their work and to the DQA for the quality and regulatory compliance of their work.

  • Responsible to maintain validity of his/her TCCA AME M2 license at all times;
  • Accomplish the following activities for each assigned maintenance tasks performed under his/her supervision;
  • Review of the Technical Log, Purchase Order and associated documents for the maintenance requested;
  • A Work Order is initiated with appropriate check sheets and additional work sheets are attached;
  • Work related tasks are assigned to appropriately trained maintenance personnel;
  • The inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul or replacement of parts is done in accordance with the Parts and Material section of the TA Policies and Procedures;
  • Inspection by certifying personnel has been carried out;
  • Dual inspections have been carried out as required;
  • Functional tests have been carried out as required;
  • A review of all documentation for completeness has been carried out;
  • A computerized maintenance release itemizing all maintenance performed and any outstanding defects is generated and entered appropriately;
  • Ensure the work accomplished on any aircraft or component is in compliance with:
    • The applicable manufacturer's recommended standards;
    • Canadian Aviation Regulations;
    • Company policies and procedures;
  • Ensure that all replacement parts are inspected, eligible and properly certified prior to installation;
  • Ensure that the removed parts are properly tagged and routed to quarantine;
  • Inform the DOM or his delegate of irregularities on status of required maintenance tasks;Perform Receiving Inspection Authority functions as required;
  • Assist in the On-the-Job training and instruction of personnel;
  • Attend training courses to ensure continued qualifications;
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor;
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Holds a valid TCCA AME M2 license in a recognized discipline;
  • 2 years of relevant experience in aircraft maintenance (an asset);
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Able to work on complex assignments requiring considerable judgment, initiative and technical/specialized knowledge;
  • Able to problem solve and troubleshoot;
  • Able to communicate in English;
  • Team player;
  • Experience on a commercial or military aircraft;
  • Experience in Line Maintenance in a fast-paced environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting / carrying / pushing / pulling up to 70 lbs;
  • Working in confined spaces;
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime and shift work according to flight operations;
  • Will be required to work outdoors;
  • Travel is required for the position;
  • International travel may also be required in this role

Security Clearance Requirements/ CGP / ITAR:

Position requires Level II clearance with the Canadian Government and the ability to gain access to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program
