Job summary

Top Aces Inc. is seeking an Avionics Technician to maintain and repair avionics systems on our aircraft. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, installation and overhaul of avionics components, with strict adherence to Canadian regulations and Top Aces procedures.

You will maintain training records, work with RAMCO, and participate in ongoing safety and quality programs while supporting continuous improvement across maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Training in electronics or an avionics program recognized by Transport Canada.
• Experience in an electronics laboratory is an asset.
• Adaptability, organizational skills, attention to detail.
• Team player but able to work independently with little supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• French communication; English reading and interpretation of manuals; bilingual an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expertise on Top Aces aircraft avionics systems, including troubleshooting and repair/overhaul of avionics components.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures and maintain current training & qualifications.
• Ensure work complies with manufacturer standards, Canadian Aviation Regulations and company procedures.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul or replace parts with proper certification and tagging; record on work forms.
• Assist in troubleshooting engine electronic components and research failure causes in test cells.
• Repair and test aircraft batteries; support safety programs and Quality Management System.
• Perform basic RAMCO data entries when required and attend training courses to maintain qualifications.
• Assist in on-the-job training of personnel and perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Avionics Technicians will work independently or as part of a crew performing duties as assigned by their Lead. Primary responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain expertise on Top Aces aircraft avionics systems, to include troubleshooting, installation and/or repair/overhaul of avionics components;
• Be knowledgeable of and adhere to company policies and procedures;
• Ensure that Top Aces record of your personal training & qualification is current and accurate and that all assigned tasks fall within qualified competencies;
• Ensure that the work accomplished on any aircraft or component is in compliance with applicable manufacturer’s recommended standards, Canadian Aviation Regulations and company policies and procedures;
• Ensure inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul or replacement of parts is done in accordance with the Top Aces Policies and Procedure
• For all aircraft or component maintenance:
  • Ensure that all replacement parts are inspected, eligible and properly certified prior to installation;
  • Ensure that all removed parts are properly tagged and routed to quarantine as required;
  • Sign for accomplishment of own work on applicable work forms and records, and review forms and records to ensure entries are made in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Carry out Independent Checks when authorized as per company policies and procedures
  • Inform their supervisor of irregularities on status of required maintenance tasks;
• Perform receiving inspection authority functions as required;
• Assist technicians troubleshoot electronic components of the engine (i.e ignition system, engine control unit, harness, etc.), as well as research possible causes of failures in test cell;
• Repair and test aircraft batteries
• Support Top Aces safety programs and Quality Management System;
• Perform basic Integrate Supply Chain entries in RAMCO when required;
• Attend training courses to ensure continued qualifications.
• Assist in the on-the job training and instruction of personnel as required; and
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor;

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Training in electronics or an avionics program recognized by Transport Canada, an accredited course, or equivalent military experience.
• Experience in an electronics laboratory would be an asset.
• Adaptability, organizational skills, attention to detail. Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• A team player who is also able to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to work on complex projects requiring a high degree of judgment, initiative, and technical and specialized knowledge.
• Ability to communicate in French. Functional in English language in order to read, understand and interpret manuals, policies and procedures. Bilingual an asset;
• High level of professionalism continuously shows courtesy and respect for team members.

• International travel may also be required in this role
