Job summary

Airbus Atlantique Canada SL Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Assembler for its Mirabel site. You will assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated modules to build aircraft structures, following technical files and process sheets.

You will work alone or with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality, safety, and conformance to specifications, interpreting drawings and using measuring tools to verify assemblies.

Qualifications

• DEP or equivalent in structural assembly or systems installation.
• 5+ years aeronautics or related assembly experience and an evaluation pass.
• Strong reading of technical drawings and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated modules and sub-assemblies for aircraft.
• Interpret manufacturing files and ensure conformance with specs.
• Read diagrams, plan operations, and verify assemblies with instruments.
• Work solo or in teams to install aircraft structure elements.
• Maintain quality and safety per Airbus Atlantique Canada procedures.

Job summary

The Aircraft Assembler is responsible for carrying out assembly operations (assembling, adjusting, and installing prefabricated modules and sub-assemblies to build aircraft). Based on a technical file, a manufacturing process sheet in paper or digital format, and a kit of primary parts, the Aircraft Assembler must perform, alone or in a team, the assembly of an aircraft structure while performing quality work that complies with the standards and procedures of Airbus Atlantique Canada and the client.

Your challenges

• Read and interpret manufacturing and installation drawings, plan, trace patterns of various shapes, cut, shape, assemble, and adjust sheet metal and plate parts or any other shape used in structure and assembly;
• Perform all operations necessary for the assembly, adjustment, repair, modification, and installation of any type of mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic parts and/or assemblies, manufacture parts, and perform complex adjustments;
• Consult and interpret aircraft assembly diagrams;
• Manufacture simple aircraft structure parts;
• Install aircraft structure elements;
• Assemble and adjust, from a manufacturing file, the assembly of sub-assemblies and structural assemblies of Airframes and Aircraft Systems;
• Assemble and install parts and mechanical elements of an aircraft;
• Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated parts or elements such as coverings, flight controls, assemblies, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems on aircraft;
• Set up and use manual or automated machines and tools according to the work to be performed;
• Verify, using measuring and verification instruments, aircraft assemblies against technical specifications;
• Ensure, through various control means, the conformity of assemblies in relation to the manufacturing file.

Your profile

• DEP in Structural Assembly or Systems Installation OR Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Assembler/Fitter in the aeronautics field or in a related assembly field AND Successfully pass an evaluation demonstrating basic technical skills;
• Have good technical knowledge in structure assembly and systems installation;
• Master aeronautical technical language and technical drawing reading;
• Have relevant knowledge regarding FOD management;
• Good manual skills and very good dexterity;
• Good visual acuity;
• Thoroughness and precision, good reflexes, ease of concentration, and attention to detail (assembly or manufacture of high-precision components);
• Analytical ability to quickly find a defect or any other problem;
• Sense of responsibility (part conformity);
• Ease of teamwork (multidisciplinary team: assembly mechanics, aircraft mechanics, other technicians, engineers);
• Experience in the aerospace industry.

• Deferred compensation: $1.55/hour worked, paid 2 times per year (July and December) after completing your probation period of 600 hours worked;
• Schedule: Monday to Thursday (05:50 to 14:20). You may be required to work the evening shift from Monday to Thursday (14:20 to 00:50). In this case, you will be eligible for an evening premium of $1.05 as long as you are assigned to the evening shift.
