Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Monitor operation of engine and aircraft systems during flight.
2. Coordinate flight activities with ground crews and air-traffic control; inform crew members of flight and test procedures; direct activities of aircraft crew during flights.
3. Conduct in-flight tests and monitor functioning of aircraft equipment and systems during flights.
4. Perform pre-flight inspections of aircraft and check passenger and cargo distribution to ensure weight and balance specifications are met.
5. Contact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions, and other information.
6. Maintain communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters; respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctions.
