Job summary

TC Energy is seeking an Air Emissions and Reporting Analyst to develop air and GHG emissions inventories and support compliance reporting across North America. You will work with multiple teams to collect data, perform technical analysis and support emissions reduction initiatives.

The role offers hybrid work in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, with a focus on accuracy, regulatory alignment and continuous improvement. A PE/engineering background or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Data Analytics or similar; or a technical diploma in a related field.
  • 4+ years of technical or operational experience within pipelines, energy or power related facilities.
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good-standing.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of air and GHG emissions inventories and the preparation of government mandated compliance submissions.
  • Collaborate with internal groups to collect activity data and metrics.
  • Coordinate with regulators and stakeholders to provide emissions data and context and review policy changes.
  • Develop tools, systems, and processes to collect and manage emissions data in line with standards.
  • Assist in the review and third‑party verification of emissions data.
  • Support disclosures of emissions-related data.

The Opportunity Reliable greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data is foundational to TC Energy’s efforts to effectively manage emissions while meeting growing energy demand across North America, and reporting on air and GHG emissions is among TC Energy’s obligations to our regulators and to our stakeholders. The Air Emissions and Reporting Analyst will be an integral part of the team responsible for developing air and GHG emissions inventories in support of environmental compliance and sustainability reporting and for conducting technical emission inventory analysis for other initiatives, such as the development emission reduction strategies. Reporting to the Manager, Air Emissions and Sustainability in Canada Gas’ Mainline Commercial Department and working within the air compliance team, in this role you will have responsibilities related to the compilation, calculation and reporting of air and GHG emissions for compliance reporting and will support the development and implementation of strategies ensure alignment with corporate standards and evolving Federal and Provincial regulatory requirements. The successful AirEmissions and Reporting Analyst candidate will work in collaboration with business units and corporate functions to compile emissions-related data and support the quantification of Canadian operational emissions.

We are looking for an individual who has a keen interest in GHG emissions and sustainability, and while experience in this area is an asset, it is not required. We will consider individuals with a strong commitment to learning and a high level of collaboration and customer service.

What you’ll do
  • Support the development and maintenance of air and GHG emissions inventories and the preparation of government mandated compliance submissions
  • Work with internal TC Energy groups to collect and compile activity data and metrics
  • Collaborate with internal (field operations, business units, corporate functions) and external stakeholders (e.g. regulatory agencies) to provide emissions data and context, and in reviewing policy and regulatory changes
  • Support the development and implementation of tools, systems, and processes to collect, manage and calculate operational emissions data consistent with regulatory and corporate standards
  • Develop strategies for process improvement and innovation through deployment of integrated programming and automation solutions
  • Participate in, and support operational teams with, the review and third-party verification of emissions-related data
  • Support internal and external disclosures of emissions-related data
  • Contribute to a continuous improvement culture related to process and procedures, supporting efficiency, consistency and data quality efforts
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Data Analytics or similar applicable degree; or a technical diploma in a related field 4+ years of technical or operational experience within pipelines, energy or power related facilities Registered, or eligible to register, with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good-standing

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills - ability to learn customized software in addition to experience with Power BI and Microsoft software packages including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with large datasets, data analytics, programming/AI and the ability to use this experience to solve complex and unique technical or regulatory compliance issues
  • Experience in the field of air and GHG emissions
  • Familiarity with energy/pipeline/power facilities and emissions-related operational data
  • Strong team orientation, demonstrating a high level of collaboration and cooperation within functional and cross‑functional teams
  • Commitment to client service and support
