Job summary

Cargojet is seeking a dependable Ground Loader to operate the main deck and lower deck loader safely and efficiently at our Halifax-area facility. The role involves handling packages, following airport procedures, and maintaining strict safety standards to protect people and cargo.

You will lift up to 60lbs, work in a team, and adapt to changing ferry schedules, weekends, and holidays while ensuring timely freight build‑up and breakdown and reporting equipment issues promptly.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain RAIC security clearance.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs repeatedly.
• Strong teamwork and time‑sensitive work.
• Excellent punctuality and attendance.
• Willingness to work shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate ground servicing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Report abnormalities in equipment or performance.
• Stay informed on new equipment and procedures.
• Follow airport procedures and policies.
• Meet deadlines for freight build‑up/breakdown as part of a team.
• Perform tasks related to Dangerous Goods handling/acceptance.
• Adhere to safety and security protocols.
