Une organisation de services sociaux cherche un(e) Aide Social/e-social Assistant(e) pour travailler avec des enfants et leurs familles à George River. Qualifications

Job Description

The person works directly with children and their families and may have to intervene in the child's various living environments (home, daycare, school). In a multidisciplinary context, the FEW works closely with specialists to offer services to children showing signs of developmental delays.

As a Family Education Worker, the person will perform psychosocial tasks and develop, organize, and lead activities with young families. Under the supervision of the coordinator based in Kuujjuaq, the person will develop collaboration with CLSC and other community partners.

More specifically, the mandate includes:

  • Home visits
  • Individual, familial, or group intervention
  • Early stimulation (home, daycare, etc.)
  • Radio capsules
  • Other activities included in the program Tasiurtigiit

The candidate must:

  • Hold a secondary V diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to speak Inuktitut and English (spoken and written)
  • Experience with clientele Infant-Youth-Family is an asset
  • Experience in organizing activities in health, social services, recreation, or community organizations
  • Knowledge of child development is an asset
  • Be perceived as a positive role model by the community
  • Show a positive attitude, responsibility, and organization skills
  • Be able to work autonomously and in team settings
  • Understand Inuit traditions, beliefs, and customs
  • Proficient in Word and Outlook software
  • Available to travel within the Ungava Coast communities
