About The Opportunity

• Outlier is looking for talented writers with a STEM background and fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
• This reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity is remote, with flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever best suits you.

You may contribute your expertise by…

• Reading English text to rank responses produced by AI models.
• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.
• Assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-generated text.

Examples of Desirable Expertise

• Professional experience with writing or editing.
• Currently enrolled in or having completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM discipline at a selective institution.
• A strong sense of writing style, with excellent English spelling, grammar, logic, and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of a piece of text.

Payment

• Core project work pays an average of USD $25 per hour for English writing experts in the US.
• Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project needs, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs. Lower rates may apply during onboarding or overtime phases. Incentive payments may also be available. Please review specific project payment terms.
