Job summary

Vancity, a member-owned credit union, seeks an AI Intern to identify, validate, and scale responsible AI use cases. You will work with senior engineers to support experiments, data prep, and evaluation of enterprise AI deployments in a regulated environment.

This full-time, temporary role is based at the Vancity head office with a hybrid arrangement, reporting to the AI Manager. The 4-month internship runs Sept–Dec, with on-site attendances for events and business needs.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in CS, software, data science, or related field.
• Familiar with ML concepts including supervised/unsupervised learning.
• Experience using Python for analysis, experimentation, or app development.

Responsibilities

• Research AI use case feasibility across ML and Generative AI.
• Prepare and transform data for proof-of-concept experiments.
• Build and evaluate ML and Gen AI solutions with diverse techniques.
• Experiment with prompts, embeddings, and retrieval methods.
