Job summary

Scotiabank is seeking a software engineer to join the AI Engineering and Labs team in Toronto. You will design and implement intelligent software solutions across the bank's business lines, collaborating with data scientists, data engineers, product managers, and senior engineers to translate insights into working software.

You will own features end-to-end, contribute to architecture decisions, document designs and runbooks, and continuously improve existing products to deliver value for

Qualifications

You have a university degree in a relevant STEM discipline.
3+ years of experience in software engineering, system design, and integration.
Experience developing applications (Python and microservice architecture are preferred).
Experience working with databases and key-value data stores (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB).
Experience with Docker/Docker Compose, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like GCP is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Design and implement intelligent software solutions across the Bank's business lines.
Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, product managers, and senior software engineers to translate insights into working software.
Document designs, runbooks, and deploy processes; contribute to operational excellence and support.
