Huawei Canada is hiring an AI Software Developer to join the Smart Grid Technology Lab in Montreal. You will design and build AI tools for real-time energy management and integrate ML models into scalable software platforms.

The team focuses on simulation, microgrid control, and data-driven optimization, collaborating with researchers to deploy robust solutions. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or C++ are important.

About the ideal candidate:

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and/or C++
• Experience with machine learning and up-to-date AI frameworks.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals (data structures, system design, APIs)
• Experience building production-level applications
• Basic understanding of power systems or smart grid concepts (preferred, not required)
