Job Summary:

As AI Program Manager, you will manage and oversee all AI/ML initiatives across Modaxo’s portfolio of companies. You will vet, prioritize and measure projects, managing their delivery with company stakeholders and ensure they are successfully operationalized with measurable business and financial impacts. Experience with change management is important, as you will be helping multiple businesses develop and realize the benefits of AI/ML technologies. While this is not a pure engineering role, you will need a strong technical background, ideally in applied AI/ML, on top of your expertise in program management, financial analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting into Modaxo’s Head of AI, you will ensure AI adoption across the portfolio of companies by working hands-on with the business, bridging with engineering teams, and driving AI strategy and investment decisions.

This is a high-visibility role, and you will be an individual contributor as one of the early members of Modaxo’s AI Center of Excellence. Growth and development are an integral part of the Modaxo culture, and you’ll draw on your prior experience in building and mentoring technical teams (including third party partners) to help with future expansion plans. You will directly contribute to the training, growth, and transformation of multiple companies within the Modaxo group, driving change across the global transportation vertical.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic AI Program Management & ROI Focus

• Change management: establish business cases, financial models, and operational rollout plans for AI/ML projects for businesses.
• Vet, prioritize, structure and manage AI/ML initiatives across multiple business units in Modaxo’s portfolio to demonstrate tangible benefits (eg. Competitive advantages, reduced costs, increased productivity and margins, greater sales growth).
• Establish, measure and present clear and concise KPIs, and research and experimentation methodology.
• Develop and update clear financial models demonstrating AI-driven revenue growth and cost savings, providing regular reports to all stakeholders and updating dashboards.
• Track, update and steer AI/ML projects with portfolio product and project management, identifying opportunities, challenges and rolling out solutions.
• Ensure AI initiatives align with Modaxo-wide strategic and financial goals.
• Track and report AI project impact on business KPIs, operational efficiency, and ROI.
• Cultivate and maintain partnerships with AI/ML solution providers, including Google, Amazon and Microsoft, as well as hardware and data center firms, training partners, and auditors.

Data-driven Oversight & Hands-On Execution

• Collaborate with Modaxo portfolio company project managers and engineers to ensure safe, properly documented, well-structured and successful deployment of AI/ML initiatives.
• Evaluate AI architectures for scalability, maintainability, and business viability.
• Work closely with infrastructure teams and AI Architects to gauge resource requirements and update financial models and other performance data.
• Develop and maintain guides and train staff on best practices for topics including AI/ML project identification and prioritization, data governance (including privacy), AI ethics, security, performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain AI/ML training and certification materials.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the bridge between technical teams, operational and business leaders.
• Translate AI capabilities into business-focused language for executive stakeholders.
• Connect high-level objectives with capabilities to vet, filter and prioritize AI initiatives across all Modaxo portfolio companies.
• Maintain and deliver regular reports on financial, technical and operational performance of AI/ML initiatives and the status of Modaxo’s AI Center of Excellence.
• Ensure seamless integration of AI solutions into existing workflows.
• Deploy training programs to increase AI literacy across Modaxo’s portfolio by organizing training and certfication programs across all pertinent functions.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

• 8+ years in technical program management working on high-criticality and complex technical products, with a recent focus on AI/ML (min 2 years), or equivalent experience developing and deploying AI/ML programs and products into production.
• Technical background in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, physics, or engineering with direct experience with data science, AI/ML or automation.
• Min 2 years of software engineering experience is mandatory.
• Experience managing AI projects from prototype to production at scale.
• Prior experience in logistics, transportation, transit, healthcare, defense, or manufacturing is preferred.
• Proven ability to track AI-driven financial impact and business ROI.

Technical Skills

• AI/ML Technologies: Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, LLMs, and reinforcement learning.
• MLOps & DevOps: Understanding of model deployment, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Software Engineering: Experience working with AI engineers and full-stack developers.

Business & Financial Acumen

• Expert understanding of AI business cases, investment planning, and cost-benefit analysis.
• Ability to develop financial projections and articulate AI impact in business terms.
• Deep experience with AI risk management, ethics, compliance, and governance.

Organizational & Communication Skills

• Excellent stakeholder engagement across senior leadership, technical teams, and operations.
• Ability to drive AI adoption through change management and structured execution.
• Experience in structuring AI projects for long-term success.

Education

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, AI, Statistics, Physics, OR&IE, Engineering, or related field.
• Masters in above field, or, MBA and relevant experience preferred.
• PMP, ITIL, Agile certifications are a plus.
