OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced AI Operations (RAIOps) Lead with a strong background in Responsible AI, governance, and AI/ML risk management to support the operationalization of ethical and compliant AI practices across Wealth Management. The successful candidate will work closely with cross‑functional partners—including compliance, risk, legal, technology, data science, and business teams—to define governance processes, conduct AI risk assessments, and ensure all AI systems adhere to enterprise standards, regulatory expectations, and ethical frameworks.

This role is ideal for a proactive, detail‑oriented professional who excels in structured environments and is comfortable working with complex AI systems, model governance requirements, ethical constraints, and regulatory oversight within financial services.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 days in office)
Contract Length: 11 Months (Extension or FTE Conversion Possible)
Hours: 8 AM–5 PM EST

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Responsible AI (RAI) frameworks, controls, and governance processes for Wealth Management in alignment with CDAO and enterprise AI policies.
  • Elicit, document, and validate AI governance requirements through stakeholder engagement across business, product, technology, risk, and compliance teams.
  • Conduct AI risk assessments, evaluate model transparency and explainability, and monitor AI/ML models for drift, bias, fairness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Translate Responsible AI guidelines into actionable operational processes, playbooks, and implementation requirements for data science and engineering teams.
  • Oversee the operational reliability, ethical use, security, and compliance posture of AI systems throughout the AI lifecycle—from ideation to decommissioning.
  • Lead and coordinate incident management, escalation protocols, and remediation actions for AI‑related issues or policy non‑compliance.
  • Develop and maintain RAI documentation, including risk assessments, control evidence, reporting packages, and governance artifacts.
  • Collaborate with engineering and MLOps teams to integrate automated monitoring, observability, and compliance checks into AI pipelines.
  • Support AI governance forums by preparing materials, presenting use cases for approval, and ensuring all required documentation and attestations are submitted accurately and on schedule.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks, dependencies, and change impacts related to AI solutions.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and summaries for executives and governance bodies.
  • Ensure AI systems remain aligned with enterprise data governance standards, regulatory guidelines, and responsible innovation principles.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in AI operations, AI governance, model risk management, or Responsible AI—ideally within financial services.
  • Post‑secondary degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience developing or operationalizing Responsible AI frameworks, ethical AI guidelines, or AI governance programs.
  • Solid understanding of AI/ML models, monitoring techniques, compliance requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams, influence partners, and guide organizational change.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML lifecycles, model monitoring, and MLOps practices.
  • Proficiency with governance and risk tools, model monitoring platforms, or enterprise controls systems.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment with minimal supervision.
Preferred
  • Deep knowledge of AI/ML technologies, Responsible AI standards, and ethical frameworks.
  • Experience working in large enterprise environments or regulated financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and data governance tools.
  • Experience with AI/ML monitoring, automation, and MLOps tooling.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Program or project management experience.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AI governance, model risk management, cloud, compliance, Agile) are an asset.
Notes for Applicants

Resumes must clearly indicate prior AI operations, Responsible AI, governance, risk management, or model lifecycle experience. Please specify the nature of your AI/ML involvement (e.g., governance, model monitoring, fairness assessments, drift analysis, compliance, MLOps integration).
