Job summary

Senpilot builds AI-powered infrastructure for utilities, focusing on an intelligent grid. We are seeking a senior engineer to own AI-powered product features end to end, from schema design to production shipping, leveraging AI coding tools like Claude and Cursor.

You will work with a stack including TypeScript, Python, Node.js, GCP, Kubernetes, React, PostgreSQL, Clickhouse and Temporal in a hybrid Toronto environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building and shipping production software with end-to-end ownership.
• Hands-on experience as an AI-native Engineer delivering production-ready output.
• Experience with relational databases and solid schema design instincts.
• Understanding of modern cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
• Fluency in at least one modern language: TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar.
• True fullstack ownership across backend, data, and frontend.
• Clear communication and collaborative code review and design.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship fullstack features independently, from design through deployment and monitoring.
• Raise code quality with clean, reliable code across the stack, APIs, databases, and frontend components.
• Design pragmatic data models and schemas that scale with the product.
• Use AI coding tools as a core part of workflow to ship faster without sacrificing quality.
• Turn complex product challenges into concrete, shippable plans.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and customers to improve products.
