Job summary

Cerebras Systems in Toronto is seeking a systems software engineer to join the team responsible for bring-up, debugging, and automation of next-generation AI hardware and supporting software infrastructure.

You will collaborate with hardware engineers, build tooling to improve validation, observability, and production readiness, and help diagnose complex system failures across software and hardware components.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities with methodical approach.
Solid understanding of OS fundamentals (processes, threads, memory, IPC).
Experience in Linux development environments.

Responsibilities

Participate in bring-up of next-gen AI hardware systems and supporting software infra.
Debug complex system-level issues spanning hardware and software interactions.
Investigate failures during system bring-up using logs, telemetry and diagnostic tools.
Build automation frameworks and internal tooling to improve validation and debugging workflows.
Develop software to test, validate, and stress distributed hardware systems.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to isolate and resolve integration issues.
Improve system observability by building tools that surface failures quickly.
Reproduce, triage, and diagnose issues during early hardware deployment.
Support validation and qualification of new hardware generations toward production readiness.
Continuously improve internal engineering workflows for debugging, testing, and automation.
