Thoughtcraft Technologies Ltd. is a Calgary-based technology consulting and product incubation company working with technology businesses in areas including HR Tech, online recruitment and digital products.
We work closely with long-term technology partners to turn market insights, product concepts and emerging technologies into working digital products. Our work spans product strategy, data-driven research, rapid prototyping, applied AI and software development.
Rather than operating as a traditional project-based consulting team, our engineers work as part of integrated product and engineering teams, collaborating with product managers, researchers and engineers across Canada, the U.S. and Asia.
You will join a small and collaborative engineering environment in Calgary and work alongside other local software engineers in a shared office setting.
The Calgary team works closely with distributed product and engineering teams serving North American technology products. While you will be employed directly by Thoughtcraft Technologies Ltd., your day-to-day work will involve close collaboration with engineers and product stakeholders across our partner teams.
This is a good fit for someone who enjoys the pace and ownership of a small engineering team while still working on established, production-level products.
We are looking for an AI Engineer with strong full-stack development capabilities.
Despite the title, this is not a machine-learning research position. Your core responsibility will be building and improving production software, with an increasing portion of the work involving AI-enabled product features and workflows.
You will work across the stack: developing web applications, backend services and APIs, working with databases, integrating third-party services, and building new capabilities using modern AI and large language model technologies.
The ideal candidate is a solid full-stack engineer who is interested in how AI is changing software development and product design—and wants to build those systems rather than only experiment with them.
You do not need to be an AI or machine‑learning specialist when you join us. Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial:
This role sits between traditional full-stack engineering and the emerging discipline of applied AI engineering.
You will still spend a significant amount of your time doing the fundamentals of good software engineering—building interfaces, APIs, application logic and production systems. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to work directly on how AI models become part of real products and real user workflows.
You will also work in a small team where engineers have meaningful ownership. You will be close to both technical decisions and product decisions, rather than working on a narrowly defined component of a large organization.
We are looking for someone who is curious, pragmatic and comfortable learning quickly as the technology evolves.
