We’re seeking an AI Engineer who’s passionate about innovation to help architect and scale the agentic AI platform at the heart of our next-generation commerce operating system.

You’ll join a small, high-impact team focused on building agentic and intelligent applications from the ground up working closely with the CPTO and reporting to our Head of AI Engineering. This is a great opportunity for someone excited to work across the full product development lifecycle, in a 0-1 environment and contribute to shaping the AI foundation at a well-funded startup.

Your Responsibilities - What you will do:

• Contribute to end-to-end AI/ML solutions : Help frame problems, design models, train, evaluate, and deploy AI/ML systems into production.
• Develop production-grade pipelines : Implement pipelines for model training, testing, serving, and monitoring.
• Apply a variety of AI/ML techniques : From classical supervised/unsupervised learning to deep learning and optimization techniques, depending on the problem at hand.
• Help build intelligent data products : Such as recommendation engines, personalization, categorization, search ranking, forecasting, and fraud detection.
• Support MLOps efforts : Participate in maintaining infrastructure and tooling to support rapid experimentation and reliable deployment.
• Collaborate across teams : Work closely with product managers, designers, and software engineers to build AI agents that solve real world problems.
• Stay curious and informed : Explore new tools, libraries, and research to keep improving the quality and performance of our AI systems.

Qualifications - What you bring to the table:

• 5+ years of experience in applied ML/AI roles, ideally within product-focused environments or high-growth startups.
• Proven experience building and deploying ML models for real-world use cases (e.g., recommendations, search, NLP, categorization).
• Full-stack ML expertise across:
• Modeling - deep learning, classical ML, RL, unsupervised learning.
• Product Building - building end-end SaaS products.
• Experience with Knowledge graphs is a big plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Econometrics/ Statistics, or related field—or equivalent practical experience.
• Clear communicator with a collaborative mindset, eager to grow and contribute within a small, fast-paced team.
• Passion for building usable, scalable products — not just research or models.

Canadian locations: The base salary for this role is between CAD $135K to 170K annually.

United States locations: The base salary for this role is between USD $150K to 190K annually.

The annual base salary range for this full-time position reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all locations listed. Actual pay may vary, depending on qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity options, and company benefits (your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process). Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above.
