At fabric, we aim to redefine commerce with intelligent AI agents that help merchants grow smarter, faster, and more profitably. We’re seeking an AI Engineer to help architect and scale our agentic AI platform, central to our next-generation commerce system.

You’ll join a small, impactful team working on building intelligent applications from the ground up, closely collaborating with the CPTO and reporting to the Head of AI Engineering. This role is ideal for someone excited to work across the full product lifecycle in a startup environment and help shape our AI foundation.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to end-to-end AI/ML solutions: Define problems, design models, train, evaluate, and deploy AI/ML systems into production.
  2. Develop production-grade pipelines: Implement pipelines for training, testing, serving, and monitoring models.
  3. Apply various AI/ML techniques: From supervised/unsupervised learning to deep learning and optimization, as appropriate.
  4. Build intelligent data products: Such as recommendation engines, personalization, categorization, search ranking, forecasting, and fraud detection.
  5. Support MLOps efforts: Maintain infrastructure and tooling for rapid experimentation and reliable deployment.
  6. Collaborate across teams: Work with product managers, designers, and engineers to develop AI solutions addressing real-world problems.
  7. Stay curious and informed: Explore new tools, research, and techniques to improve AI systems.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in applied ML/AI roles, preferably in product-focused or high-growth startup environments.
  • Experience deploying ML models for real-world applications (recommendations, search, NLP, etc.).
  • Full-stack ML expertise:
    • Modeling: deep learning, classical ML, RL, unsupervised learning.
    • Product building: end-to-end SaaS products.
  • Knowledge of graphs is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS, Engineering, Econometrics/Statistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Passion for building scalable, usable products.

Salary Range:

Canada: CAD $135K - $170K annually.

US: USD $150K - $190K annually.

Compensation includes base salary, potential bonuses, equity, and benefits. Final offers depend on experience, qualifications, and location.
