Join the AI & Digital Engineering team at RBC Capital Markets, reporting directly to the Head of AI & Digital Engineering. As an integral member of our fast-paced, innovative team, you’ll work on cutting-edge projects involving Generative AI, blockchain, and emerging digital technologies. Job Description

What will you do?

  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions, focusing on technologies such as Generative AI, machine learning, and blockchain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders—to create innovative products and services.
  • Conduct research, feasibility studies, and proof-of-concept initiatives for emerging digital technologies and methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain production-grade machine learning models and AI pipelines, ensuring scalability, robustness, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Translate complex business challenges into actionable AI strategies, offering data-driven insights to support decision-making.
  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize AI frameworks and tools, utilizing best practices in software development and agile methodologies.
  • Communicate findings and project updates effectively to senior leaders, including the Head of AI & Digital Engineering, and other key stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the team’s AI and digital capabilities.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong background in AI, machine learning, and deep learning with hands-on experience in designing and deploying production-ready models.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python; knowledge of additional languages (e.g., C, C++) is a plus.
    • Experience working with Generative AI technologies, natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision.
    • Familiarity with blockchain technology and its potential applications within financial services.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and working with AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, propose innovative solutions, and drive projects from conception to successful implementation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to translate technical details for non-technical audiences.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in AI, machine learning, or cloud technologies are beneficial.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment, working effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Industry Insight: Understanding of the financial markets and regulatory landscape is an asset.

The expected salary range for this particular position in New York is $110,000 - $225,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC’s discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
